Lost & Fray at Design Assembly

Earlier this year, on 10 and 11 June, we joined Design Assembly's Summer Market at CHIJMES Hall for two days of thoughtful shopping, good company, and a whole lot of beautifully made things.

Set inside one of Singapore's most stunning heritage venues, Design Assembly brought together over 45 homegrown creative brands under one roof, spanning fashion, childrenswear, beauty, home, accessories, art, and lifestyle. It was the kind of line-up where every booth had a story, and every conversation felt like meeting someone whose work you'd been quietly admiring for a while.

The setting made it special. CHIJMES Hall has a quiet grandeur to it, the sort of space that turns even a market day into an occasion. Racks lined the walls, tables were dressed with care, and the whole hall hummed with the easy energy of people slowing down to actually look, touch, and talk.

For us, it was a chance to meet you in person. To let you feel the bamboo, try things on, ask the questions you can't ask a product page, and see for yourself how the pieces move and drape. Some of you came knowing exactly what you wanted. Others stumbled in for a browse and left in something they didn't know they needed. Both are our favourite kinds of shoppers.

Design Assembly is also a good reminder of the community we're lucky to be part of. Independent, homegrown, and doing things with intention. Meeting the other makers, swapping notes, and seeing what everyone's been working on quietly in the background is honestly half the joy of doing markets like this.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, said hi, tried something on, or simply came to see what we're about. Markets like these remind us why we love what we do: not just the making, but the meeting.
